Manchester United are reportedly best positioned to sign a speedy new forward who Mikel Arteta rates highly and wants at Arsenal.
Man Utd eyeing attacking signings as Antony's agent hits out
The Red Devils allowed wingers Marcus Rashford and Antony to leave Old Trafford on loan during the January transfer window, while failing to bolster Ruben Amorim’s attacking ranks.
Both players have been impressing at Aston Villa and Real Betis respectively, with Antony’s agent, Junior Pedroso, recently backing his client while slamming Man Utd and Amorim.
“We respect the opinion of coach Ruben Amorim, but we completely disagree with his analysis [of the winger],” said Pedroso.
“To attribute Antony’s lack of success at Manchester United solely to the question of physicality is a very superficial argument and does not reflect reality.
“The truth is that Antony has not had enough prominence or the confidence necessary to play his best football. Of the 15 games in which Amorim managed Manchester United, he only used Antony in nine, with a total of 252 minutes played. This represents only 18.6% of the total possible minutes (1,350 minutes). How can you judge an athlete without a minimum sequence to prove his worth?
“The reality is that Antony, since he arrived at Real Betis, has become one of the best players in the team and in the competition itself, demonstrating his full potential when given the right conditions to develop his game. This highlights that the problem was not the physicality, but the context and the way he was managed in Manchester.”

It does feel as if there might not be a way back for Antony or Rashford, but Man Utd are looking at attacking additions, with Sky Sports claiming that United are ready to bid £25m to sign Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils have also made contact over a potential move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, whereas another Sporting CP attacker in Francisco Trincao is also on Amorim’s radar.
Man Utd in pole position to sign Adeyemi from Dortmund
Now, an update has emerged from Spain regarding Man Utd and a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi.
Recent claims suggested that Premier League rivals Arsenal were the most likely team to sign the £33m forward, with Arteta personally a real fan of the German’s pace.
However, a new development has suggested that Man Utd are now best positioned to sign Adeyemi from Dortmund this summer, with his ‘speed, dribbling and ability to make a difference in one-on-one situations’ labelled as some of his best attributes.

Adeyemi, who is 23 years of age, fits the profile at Old Trafford, and by the looks of things, a move will be one to keep an eye on ahead of the summer, with United seemingly leapfrogging Arsenal in the race for the attacker.
