da supremo: It is often said that good players will find a way to play in the same side, even if their styles do not necessarily complement each other.
da pixbet: In theory, Romelu Lukaku should be able to play with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the final third of the field, but that partnership did not work when Manchester United welcomed Burnley to Old Trafford on Boxing Day.
Indeed, Ibrahimovic’s first Premier League start of the season ended at half-time as he was replaced having failed to link with Lukaku in a forward position.
On Friday, United boss Jose Mourinho revealed, however, that he would have no problem selecting Ibrahimovic and Lukaku in his starting XI once again.
The news was not welcomed by the United supporters, however, with many believing that the two players – as great as they are – simply cannot play in the same side.
Ibrahimovic is not the type of person that will be happy sitting on the bench for too long, but Lukaku is United’s leading scorer this season.
Should the pair start in the same team? The United fans are not convinced…
